Major Project. research examples of videos

To work on my project, I decided to start by researching a few YouTube videos as an example to see how the work was already done and what aspects were used to create a full-fledged video.

First Video

Study Hard! Student Motivation

The first video I noticed was a video with more than one and a half million views. I liked this video, because it is almost identical to what I would like to create for my project. The video uses mostly footages as a video sequence, music in the background, and a VoiceOver that tells a motivational speech. Structurally, this video is very suitable for me and I want to do almost the same. However, this video, except for its structure, has moments that I did not like when viewing. First of all, it is the length of the video. Four and a half minutes is obviously too long, since at the last minute the video starts to get very annoying, and the speech sounds monotonous. The second thing I didn't like very much was the volume level of the speaker and the music. The music in the video is louder, so the voice-over is not always heard. In the same way, the voice-over sometimes starts shouting to amplify their thoughts at certain points, but this is not felt because the voice is too muted. Otherwise, the video is made very well and looks nice - especially the video sequence.

 Second Video

It's Hard!

The second video, which I took from the same channel, I liked more. Views and audience reaction, which is twice as much here, although the video was released two years more than the first one confirms this. The first thing I liked about this video is that it uses quotes from famous people to strengthen the author's point of view and the effect of motivation. Surprisingly, when I presented my vision, I didn't even think about it. I am convinced that this is a great idea that I would like to use in my motivational video. Secondly, I liked that the video looks more solid, although it uses several different voices. In the first video, the feeling that the video is assembled from different parts was stronger. Largely due to not the most successfully selected music, which in some moments sounded very loud, and in some very quiet (or not at all). Third, the visual range and music are very well chosen - they are used in order not to distract from the motivational speech of the voice-over. Another thing I liked was the subtitles. Given that I am a foreigner and can pronounce words incorrectly, subtitles will be a good solution, so that the audience, in case of misunderstandings of my speech, can turn to the subtitles to reliably understand the idea that I am informing them. However, I can't help feeling that the video is too long. Five minutes is too long for such a video, too much was said, although I did not want to switch this video.

Third Video

The last video that I decided to analyze is slightly different from the previous ones. First, the titles are used in the middle, and they cover most of the video sequence. I am convinced that this is not the best idea, because it makes it difficult to focus. In addition, sometimes the white color of subtitles makes it difficult to read the text merging with the white video order. However, the balance between voice-over and music was perfectly matched. I understood very well what the person was saying, and the music not only did not interfere with it, but on the contrary helped. Otherwise, this video clip does not differ in anything other than a larger number of people in the video series. I think that we should use a minimum number of footages with people for my project, since they can distract attention.

Reflection
After analyzing the above videos, I came to the conclusion about what my video should look like. First of all, a short duration of two and a half three minutes will be enough, otherwise there is a great risk that the audience will get tired of watching it. The video sequence should be filled with a voice-over. The music and Voice-over should have a balance between them. The music should be quieter, and the voice should be clearly heard in every second of my speech. Captions can be a great option to help you understand better in case of errors in my speech. Using quotes can help increase the effect of motivation and strengthen my point of view in the video. Using this knowledge, you can create a good and enjoyable motivational video that people will like.
