Short scripts (Major Project Research #2)

I would like to tell you about interesting moments that I found while studying short film scripts. Then analyze them and tell me how this will help me in learning how to write scripts. I took a script with monologueblogger which has a lot of different scenarios for sale, but there are also demo versions of all the scenarios and they can be viewed and evaluated before buying, which is very good. Another plus was that all the scripts in. pdf format were written in Final draft, a script writing program that I also use.

The first scenario for analysis is HAROLD's EAR (2018) written by Joseph Arnen, where the girl Rebecca helps her uncle get cotton wool out of his ear, sounds quite funny, in a good way. The first thing I noticed was that the structure is exactly the same as a full-length movie. For me, this is not exactly news, but before that, I analyzed scenarios only from world-famous paintings. The only difference is that the events in the script take place in the same place, so you only get one scene for the entire movie. This would be an ideal scenario for my previous work on a scenario where events also happened in one place. If we talk about other points, the vocabulary here is relatively simple, which is different from my scenario, where swear words were used in large quantities, on the other hand, I was chasing realism, since in reality it would look like this. Finally, I think that in my new scenario, I will avoid this as much as possible, and at the moment I do not understand adolescent slang, and if you do not understand, it is better not to climb!

  1. Okay good that you have looked a part of a script for your research. However, at this point, your research really should include a higher level of critical commentary and analysis. You should be looking at a wide variety of scripts and possibly (short) films to inform your work. There are many aspects of screenwriting that you need to consider, such as story structure, genre, theme, setting etc. and critically analyze and discuss on your blog. Please make sure you improve your research as this is a vital part of your work. We are in week 9 of the term, but I have not seen any development on your script. Please make sure you add this urgently to your blog.
